Ryk Piche, founder of The Athletes Lab, is a passionate and dedicated coach committed to elevating athletes to their highest potential. With decades of experience in athletic training, coaching, and mentorship, Ryk combines his expertise with a hands-on approach to deliver programs focused on strength, speed, agility, and injury prevention.
As an accomplished football coach with over 20 years of experience in BC high school football, Ryk brings a unique blend of discipline, precision, and energy to his coaching. His well-rounded approach emphasizes technical skill development, athletic performance, and mental toughness, creating well-prepared, confident athletes.
Between his playing career and coaching career, Ryk has amassed close to 40 years of football and training knowledge, making him a trusted expert in athlete development and performance. He currently serves as the Running Backs Coach and Special Teams Coordinator for the Valley Huskers in the BCFC Junior Football Conference, continuing to mentor and develop athletes at a high level.
Ryk has trained and coached athletes who have advanced to compete at the highest levels, including the NCAA, U SPORTS, CIS, BCFC, CJFL, CFL, and NFL. He has also achieved success at the high school level, winning multiple AAA championships throughout his career.
Ryk’s programs at The Athletes Lab cater to athletes of all levels and focus on position-specific training, off-season development, and customized coaching for football players, martial artists, and other high-performing athletes. Known for fostering a positive and competitive environment, Ryk inspires athletes to push their limits while prioritizing injury prevention and longevity in their sport.

Austin, a Chilliwack, BC native, grew up immersed in sports and athletics. At just 13 years old, he began volunteering as a sideline assistant with the BC Lions, igniting a lifelong passion for football. Over the next seven years, Austin honed his skills on the CFL sidelines before transitioning to a full-time role as an Equipment Assistant with the team.
Austin pursued higher education at Thompson Rivers University, where he earned an Associate of Commerce and Business Administration Diploma. During this time, he also completed the Hockey University Coaching Program through Hockey Canada, further solidifying his expertise in sports and coaching.
As a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Austin has dedicated himself to empowering local athletes. Since joining the Fit For Change team in 2020, he has led the development of personal training and athletic programs. His work includes training partnerships with Chilliwack Minor Baseball, Chilliwack Minor Hockey, Fraser Valley Aces, Chilliwack Jets, and the Valley Huskers.
